Eat Well, Drink Well, Sleep Well

Waddington Village/ Ribble ValleyWaddington is amongst the most attractive of the Ribble Valley villages. You will find a post office and village shop, two other pubs, two churches, a social club, a bowling green and a very well used village playing field. In fact, everything you might need to keep body and soul together. When the bright lights of the big city beckon, Clitheroe, the bustling metropolis of the Ribble Valley (pop.5000) is just a mile and a half away. Dominated by the castle at the top of the town, Clitheroe has somehow managed to avoid the worst ravages of commercial development. In fact, it’s a little old-fashioned, but that’s the way we like it. Clitheroe is also home to our sister business, The Emporium, a converted Methodist Chapel that now houses an interior design and decoration superstore and an unfeasibly large coffee shop, wine-bar and brasserie. Although we say so ourselves, it really is worth a look. By contrast, the same distance in the other direction will see you on the lower fringes of the forest of Bowland, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Whether it’s walking, fishing, cycling, mountain biking, bird watching, shooting or simply relaxing, there are fewer finer places to be. The forest of Bowland is one of Mother Nature’s best equipped playgrounds.
