July 2011 - Fabulous mini break, gorgeous food, excellent staff!

My fiancee and I and our dog booked 2 nights at this wonderful pub, after a much needed break. We arrived to friendly smiles from the staff, a very clean pretty room, and a delicious lunch. The staff throughout our stay were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and they were very chatty. The food was excellent, presented well, plenty of it and very tasty. The room was very clean with plenty of space, a delight to stay in.
We will definitely be booking to return here again!

June 2011 - We will most certainly be visiting again soon

Having spent another two nights at the Waddington Arms, this time to celebrate both our birthday's. We find the whole experience gets better every time. From the lovely room with its excellent facilities, to the tasty cooked breakfast right through to the superb food and drinks served thoroughout the day.
Andrew the manager is the centre of all that is good and his staff are an excellent team of young and cheerful people.

June 2011 - Thank you

Thank You for a very warm welcome and excellent food and service during our stay in Waddington last week.

The attention given to our little boy George made him feel very special and he thoroughly enjoyed his visit not to mention the food!

From my perspective the most striking thing was the sheer friendliness and helpfulness of every single member of staff;  great job from everyone concerned.

We certainly look forward to our next visit down to Lancashire from the frozen north of Aberdeen.

Thanks again.

Best Rgds,

The Connell Family from Aberdeen

June 2011 - “Lovely pub in a pretty village.”

We got a fantastic deal with late rooms but the pub does its own good deal for dinner b & b. Our room was in the eaves, We had 2 tiny window, 1 with a window seat looking out over the main street.. It looks as though they are gradually refurbing the rooms - lovely bed, new curtains and cushions, flat screen tv , everything you need. Shower room really clean if a bit dated.

The pub itself is lovely and really popular with locals. All the staff were really friendly and ready to help. We had 1 evening meal which was very good quality.

May 2011 - “The perfect English country inn experience”

Stayed 2 nights, had the most fabulous time & left reluctantly! Room was cute, with top-end bathroom, food was amazing - perfectly cooked steak & breakfast eggs for example, great choice of ale, warm ambience in bar/dining area, and a tireless fun host. We'd be back regularly if we didn't live in Australia!

Having stayed at The Waddy many times can only say it's become a favourite place to come and relax.

specials board.. Very tasty fish and chips.

April 2011 - Wedding Bells

We stayed at the Waddington Arms as we were attending a wedding nearby for which the hotel was ideally situated. We had never been to Waddington before we didn't realise how pretty the village itself was. We will definitely be going back to the Waddington Arms, the staff were very friendly, the room itself was lovely and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious and the village and surrounding areas are well worth a more in depth visit.

April 2011 - Short but sweet!

Lovely pub/hotel in a lovely setting. Room was basic and quite small but perfectly adequate. And great value. Evening meal good quality and I thought reasonable in price. Breakfast was very comprehensive and good quality; nicely served.

Brilliant value all round! Everything about the Waddington Arms was faultless. The Manager and staff were so helpful and friendly making us feel at home right away. Would recommend to anyone.

March 2011 - Excellent B&B

We stayed at the Waddington Arms as we had to attend a funeral and needed B&B accommodation close to family. It proved to be a very good choice, the hospitality, accommodation and breakfast were excelllent. The floorboards were rather creaky though so you could hear the people in the room above walking about. It could have been a problem but they were very considerate neighbours and didn't do any clog dancing during the night. It proved to be all part of the charm of Waddington Arms.

February 2011 - Pleasant Stay!

Room 5. Lovely little location. Superb quality room of a good size and nice and fresh. Pleasant, friendly welcome and good breakfast. Only drawback was the sloping ceiling, which for my partner and I (who are both 6ft) meant that we were always bumping our heads!
Highly recommended, and would like to go back some time.

James T - Duns, Scotland (Booked via laterooms)

February 2011 - Excellent B and B

We realised we had forgotten a few small products and the Owner was more than generous to offer to go to a local supermarket and pick up the items. All round brilliant Pub and Hotel.

J Holmes - Preston (Booked via laterooms)

February 2011 - Waddington Charms

The hotel is warm and inviting, complete with a wood-burning fire. The room offered a view of the village, including the babbling river, and was beautifully decorated. The bathroom was clean and recently fitted. Later we enjoyed a meal in the pub. The landlord offered us a great deal becuase we were boarding for the night, meaning that we only paid £30 for dinner (that is 3 courses each). The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The restaurant was very busy so i would recommend booking a table in advance. The pub had a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, providing a real sense of community spirit. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a good value getaway.

January 2011 - Waddington Summary

Very warm welcome when I arrived. Menu has our of the ordinary items included and, from the food I selected, was well cooked. Good choice of beers available and attitude of staff very good. Overall a very pleasant stay and I would stay again.

t;December 2010 - Ideal Country Break

My wife and I enjoyed a two nights stay between Christmas and New Year. We were greeted on arrival by Andrew, the Hotel Manager who, along with his staff made us feel very welcome. Excellent food and service in a lovely country pub environment with open fires and stone floors. We hope to stay again in Spring 2011 at this dog friendly establishment. Should you visit the Waddington Arms, be sure to call in the villages other two pubs, High Buck and Low Buck. Also there are many delightful walks that lead directly from the Hotel.

December 2010 - Excellent Stay

Booked two rooms for two nights to attend a wedding. I have to say that the Waddington Arms made the event even more magical. From the Minute we arrived we were made very welcome. The Staff were very friendly and the rooms very comfortable. Dinner the first evening was exceptional, and breakfast could not be faulted. Everything about our stay was first class.

December 2010 - Waddington Arms in the Snow

We had a lovely stay at the Waddington Arms for our anniversary and it was made special and Christmassy by the snow. It's a lovely olde worlde pub with friendly staff, good service and good food. Two pubs within 5 mins walk of Waddington so a pub crawl is a must and a definate to end up at the Waddington in front of the wood burning stove for a night cap or two!! A trip into Clitheroe is a must and the local bus stop right by pub. Overall a great weekend! A trip back in the summer is on the cards!

November 2010 - A Rare Treat

Arrived later than anticipated and feeling a bit jaded. The staff were excellent and the food was exceptional (I can't reccomend the pork loin enough) soon felt relaxed and happy. Great room and comfortable bed resulted in a great nights sleep and after breakfast was set up for my days work. Looking forward to more appointments in the area so I can stay again.

November 2010 - Overnight stay for wedding nearby

We stayed here for one night whilst attending a wedding nearby- what a little gem it is. Gorgeous place, lovely rooms, food very good, good range of drinks and roaring log fire-but best of all the customer service- superb, friendly, professional, and courteous. Me and my husband will be back for another overnight stay soon-once we have arranged a babysitter. Great location for a short get away for busy parents and Clitheroe has lovely shops and cafes to roam around!
